Dear friends and patients,
Since February of this year the lives of millions of Ukrainians have been devastated by the ongoing Russian invasion.
I, like many of you, felt helpless and was unsure what I could do to provide support to those trapped in this crisis. I feel very privileged to be able to lead a normal life while others are unable to do so and I felt compelled to take action.
Since the start of the invasion, our sister organisation London Specialist Pharmacy has partnered with the charity Medical Aid Now to send medicines directly to those who need them in Ukraine.
We are still very much involved in this and I want to continue supporting the people of Ukraine any way I can. Most recently, I have had the privilege of working with Ann Rachlin MBE in organising a concert in East Sussex for the benefit of the St Nicholas Hospital for Children in Lviv.
Ukraine Reborn will be a concert of words and music in aid of the injured children in Ukraine.
The world famous cellist Raphael Wallfisch will be performing a programme of Beethoven and Bloch as well as works by Ukrainian composers Prokofiev and Gliere.
This will be accompanied by poetry recitals by Emila Fox and Freddie Fox, who will recite works by two of the greatest Ukrainian poets, Taras Shevchenko and Lesya Ukrainka.
The concert takes place at 4pm on the 2nd of October in the picturesque medieval town of Winchelsea, East Sussex. I would be thrilled to see you there!
All proceeds from Ukraine Reborn will go to The St Nicholas Hospital for Children in Lviv, Ukraine where injured children from all over the country are being taken because the hospitals in their towns have been hit by Russian missiles.
They are in dire need of a new operating theatre, medical equipment and medications. Generous sponsors have covered all expenses for the concert so that the proceeds will go to help the innocent, traumatised children of Ukraine to help restructure their broken lives.
If you cannot attend the concert, please consider donating via this link.
Every thought, gesture, consideration and donation matters. By donating we can help these innocent children and their families. All funds will go directly to the hospital St Nicholas Children’s Hospital via Action for Humanity (Registered Charity No 1154881) to be used on the most urgently needed supplies.
My personal aim is to continue fundraising for the St Nicholas Hospital for Children’s in Lviv for as long as it is needed. We are in direct contact with hospital staff and receive regular updates about how the funds are being used.
This is a time of great suffering for Ukrainian people and I know that sometimes it feels as if there is little we can do, but your donation truly matters and will make a difference for those in need.
Slava Ukraini!
